¿do you IMPLY or INFER?

En inglés, este es un error muy común, incluso entre la gente más culta.

IMPLY (implicar, suponer)

INCORRECTO: Your mother inferred that you need to be more organized.

CORRECTO: Your mother implied that you need to be more organized.

INFER (inferir. deducir)

INCORRECTO: From  the look of his clothes, she  implies that he has a lot of money.

CORRECTO: From  the look of his clothes, she  infers that he has a lot of money.
